I'm using Vanilla for this forum. It's nice and lightweight but requires extensions for almost all forum functionality. Let's keep a running list of feature requests, suggestions, bugs, etc and I'll get to them one at a time.

I dont think the "participated discussions" filter works, nothing happened when I clicked it

When i click "Participated Discussions" Im taken to the categories page. Hard to tell if it's working since I've participate in every thread.

You have to make sure that when you post the reply, it's set to format as html at the bottom. -

Just click "Start a new discussion" up in the top-left of any page. Clicking it while browsing a specific category will default the thread to that same category, if not you must select one yourself. -

Really minor:
So, if you look at where I quote Dram in the Nietzsche thread, the space before the emphasized word (there in the original post) is gone in the quote. Also saw it where Dram quoted Flanked in the Mass Erect thread: just before a link a space dropped out. Dunno if it's a Vanilla thing you've got no control over... -

I havent tried it yet, but does it work if you click "subscribe to discussion" up there in the sidebar?

The "Friendly URL's extension is breaking the PM's. I tried to turn off Friendly URL's and it broke the settings page. Now I can view the setting or approve new users. Im just getting deeper and deeper.

Actually I corrected my stupid ass mistake. Private messages are still borked, though.

if you want to help, I need to know how to get the Vanilla Private Messages extension (which transforms "Whispers" into real private messages) to work with mod_rewrite Friendly URLS.

Is there a way to remove "Format comments as" and force all comments to be posted as HTML? Additionally, can we get the formatting bar to appear on new private messages?

Click the Discussions tab at the top. That will list all discussions in all categories that have received comments since the last time you looked at them.

I don't know if something like this addon would be useful to you. It cross posts between Wordpress and Vanilla. I don't know how well it works. This way a forum thread could act as the comment thread for a blog/comic post.

I'll third that, just so you know it's not a fluke. And even though I'm sure it's a server-side problem, I'm using IE7 on XP.
