"Also interesting is that on a hit it can take no move actions until it saves. I take that to mean no teleporting either."
Went with Multiclass Mastery as my level 26 feat, which lets Zakiti take two multiclass feats that it is eligible for. Said feats are then Bravo (multiclass Bravo), which gives training in Intimidate and an encounter power that designates a creature as prey (which gives Zakiti +2 to attack and damage against the creature to the end of next turn), and Resourceful Leader (multiclass Warlord), which gives training in a Warlord class skill (I choose Heal), and allies who Zakiti can see who spend an action point to make an attack gain +7 damage if the attack hits and +7 temporary hit points if the attack misses.
I have an exciting sidequest set up for you three. Three action-packed encounters, so be ready to be on your game! I think we can manage it within the usual time with just a little hustle. It's a ton of experience... if you survive to the end. :)
Quick question on a feat - I am looking at Master At Arms (from Essentials - Heroes Of The Fallen Lands). It is supposed to give a +1/+2/+3 bonus on weapon attacks. The modified CB is not adding the bonus to my crossbow attacks, but it is adding it to my sword attacks. From other feats, I already have a +3 to crossbow attacks. Is it only the highest feat bonus that applies, or should they all stack?

Sorry for the double-post above. Not sure what went wrong.
Yeah, a good rule of thumb when trying to figure out if bonuses stack: Like Bonuses Don't Stack. Both "Master at Arms" and "Weapon Expertise" are feat bonuses (specifically named as such in the text), so they don't stack. If a fellow character were able to use a power to grant you a power bonus to attacks, that would stack with the feat bonus but it wouldn't stack with, say, a power bonus that you give yourself. Untyped bonuses always stack as long as they're not from the same source (e.g. the same power used twice).
Alright, we got level 27 Life Force Amulet +6 from the guy we killed. It's a neck item (+6 to Fort, Ref, and Will def).
Has a daily power that heals 40 hit points on a target within 5 squares as a minor action. There's no obvious person who should have said item. It's up for Styks or Gneekman to take if that sounds like something they want.
If neither Styks nor Gneekman want the Life Force Amulet then I will take it, but I want to keep the current neck slot item that I have which means the amulet would be stowed most of the time.
So we're not playing next week, as I'll be enjoying some time in our nation's capital. The following week is Easter Sunday. Are you guys available for play that day? A Saturday game is out; I'll be returning to town that night. The only other option I see is Sunday night, although I imagine that would be worse than Sunday afternoon (?).
I'll be there Easter Sunday if we have it. I'd probably lean towards having a single encounter.
The week after that, my sister convinced me to participate in a 5K sponsored by the National M-S Society. It starts at 10:00 my time. I'll finish it within an hour, so I should be able to show up on time, but I'm mentioning it in case something goes crazy and I'm late arriving.
OK based on feedback so far I'm planning on running a short session this coming Sunday (4/24). Please let me know ASAP if you have conflicting plans for Easter.
Scratch that. It turns out I have plans after all. Game off - enjoy your Sunday!
The following items are scheduled for disenchantment:
...and the 12th as well for @Jonnyace's birthday bash. And yes, I just used an @ for somebody's name.
We may have a new player or two joining the group, so June games are not necessarily off yet. Stay tuned.
13820 XP for today's session.
Also split up your gold from the last adventure and this one up to this point.
Good news, everyone! </farnsworth>
Rhyd would agree with Karch about the portal.
I discovered the flame rose reagent, which costs 125K gp. The reagent is a consumable. One time only, it gives 15 ongoing fire (save ends) to each creature I target with a fire power. TARGET, not hit. I have a few spells that I can increase to a burst 4 so that's....a lot of baddies. Worth a shot, I figure.
The only other item I am really considering are the Lens of Luminary head slot item. They cost 425K gp and I can't decide if they would be worth it or not.
...So I guess I'd kinda like everyone's opinions.
Aside from giving me darkvision, they would give me an at-will power with 3 charges per day (minor action). Spend the number of charges indicated to gain the special sense described until end of encounter:
1: Learn resists/vulns of any creature I look at (but not amounts)
1: Gain +5 to perception checks for traps
2: Gain truesight 10
Thanks for updating that! Everyone please take a moment to check the Obsidian Portal page on "Party Equipment" for accuracy. In particular, please look at your GP. I know some of you updated your gold after yesterday's session but I don't think everyone did. I made sure everyone's XP is correct but I don't have as good a sense of what your wealth should be.
I adjusted Zakiti's GP. I had it 111,500 GP higher than you listed. And I can't think of anything I would have bought that would have made that difference.
I retrained Zakiti's level 24 feat from Skill Power to Razor Shard Swarm, which makes Zakiti's Shard Swarm do a little damage. Then its new level 28 feat is Expanded Shard Swarm, which increases the size of Shard Swarm to a burst 2.
I've been considering retraining Zakiti's at-will power Vicious Mockery for Staggering Note. Both are arcane implement powers that target one creature in a ranged 10. Vicious Mockery does 2d6+18 damage and gives the target a penalty to attack rolls, and the character builder says Staggering Note would do 8 damage (I feel like I should still get the enhancement bonus from its songblade as well, but it doesn't list that). In addition, the target is pushed 2 squares and one of Zakiti's allies can make a melee basic attack before, during, or after the push.
I noticed Adaka has only one ring. I wonder if he would be interested in either the Ring of Life or Ring of Traded Knowledge that we have unused. Both of them seem like they would be better than nothing. Otherwise I was thinking of replacing Zakiti's Gargoyle Ring with said Ring of Traded Knowledge. That might be a way to have my cake and eat it too, putting Staggering Note in it so that I can switch to it in a situation where pushing might be useful (and have Vicious Mockery the rest of the time).
I would've agreed with you on adding your enhancement bonus to the damage for Staggering Note, but the compendium lists enhancement bonuses being applicable to damage *rolls*. Since Staggering Note does not do rolled damage, it seems like it would not apply. (cf. Magic Missile post-update, which specifically mentions that the enhancement bonus *does* apply suggesting an exception)
3 cancellations for this weekend, so the game is off. See you next week!
A slightly overdue posting of Karch's level 28 updates:
Just a heads up guys. This forum is ONLY being used for this D&D game, so I am going to shut it down pretty soon. One more URL and database for me to manage that isnt really doing anything. Please backup whatever you need from this thread and post a message when you've successfully found another place to host this game.
Thanks for the heads-up, Joel. I had a feeling the forum would be retiring soon, so we already have a backup in place. We'll be moving discussions to a thread on the RPTools website, located here:
