    god, this is so annoying.

who the fuck cares? I don't care if celebrities who annoy me tell me to vote. I live in NY. Electoral college ftw, guess what, Obama gets NY.

While I agree that the electoral college throws this whole message out the window, I appreciate the effort. At least it's an attempt to get Americans to care about something other than a sale at Shametarpia (Wall-mart). Complacency and apathy are two things I cannot stand (two things I struggle with alot lately), and I like the attempt to actually get people to care about something larger than themselves, a feat in itself.

The thing I like about this video is that they aren't *TOO* pushy about what candidate/causes to vote for. The main focus is just to vote.

Yeah, the electoral college... but it's not like the president is the only thing to vote on. Most symbolic, yes. In terms of impact on your day-to-day, not as big as choosing your congresscritters and other state and local offices, or voting on bonds and initiatives and the like. I do wish more people would care about those.

Yeah I saw that ad a little while back, annoyed the shit outta me. I agree with the message, and under normal circumstances I even enjoy the work of most of the people in it, but that format really sucks.

I know some people in CA who are voting just because they wish to vote for/against Prop 8. I get that, at least.

As the voice of dissent, I would posit that a choice to not choose is still a valid choice, just like the Rush song says. I don't agree with this "you have no right to complain if you don't make a choice as to which assbag holds office."

That being said, I understand the sentiment of wanting people to not be ignorant of issues. I just think it's valid to not choose if there is no choice that meets your expectations. I, for one, am a registered Republican who is not voting for John McCain, but writing in a candidate. I'll probably change my party affiliation the next time I register.

Vote Bart Simpson or Homework Sucks.

Yeah I only go with independent. I realized pretty early on that everyone who tried to formalize ideals into organizations was a leetle bit douchey, so I run free like a chupacapybara.
