Hard Candy

Just finished watching it. Really amazing performance between Patrick Wilson and Ellen Page. Page plays a 14 year old girl who seduces a older man (Patrick Wilson) in order to expose his secrets. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

There are some indeed some very intense scenes as Wilson's character realizes the extent to which the girl knows his deepest darkest secrets. Its a small budget flick with only a few sets, but they use them very effectively.

Warning: NOT A DATE MOVIE. You'll see what I mean ...

A really fantastic movie, I recommend seeing it as well.

And if you're not sold yet, the trailer is pretty good too: http://www.apple.com/trailers/lions_gate/hardcandy/

A tad implausible in places but still very creepy... Will i be able to look at Night Owl and not see this character?

Sounded awesome from what I heard from the Podcast so a couple friends (all girls) and I got together and watched it, we all loved it.

Quite frankly, Niteowl comes across as somewhat of a wuss and maybe a little pathetic. I think Patrick Wilson has too "strong" a face, maybe if he really put on some weight, that would help, but he's going to have to act his ass off if he's going to pull off the Dan Dreiberg character. The only bigger miscast (imo) would be Ozymandias, who is supposed to have the body of a greek adonis, while Matthew Goode is, for all intents and purposes, a twig.

Patrick Wilson has never really impressed me, he's serviceable as an actor but not fantastic. I'd have to pick Billy Crudup as Dr. Manhattan as the biggest miscast, i just thing he's a massive flaming minge of an actor and will not be able to give Dr. Manhattan the gravitas he requires as the worlds only true superhero. Now the Comedian, they hit that out of the park. Jeffrey Dean Morgan has needed something substantial for years and he's just a dead ringer for the character.

    Concurred.

Holy crap this movie is mind-blowing! The *ahem* "version" that I got is split into two parts, and the first one ends with Page's character revealing what her plans for him really are. I spent a good ten seconds staring at a blank screen, just dumbfounded. Part two will be starting shortly, and I can't wait to see what happens next.
