Right, so what themes should I do?

Racism (All the horrible things you can possibly say, including anti gay and misogynistic stuff)

Story time (various stories the cast and crew have, including legends like The Mad Shitter)

Voices (Different imitations Joel, Eli, and Josh do, including Tree Beard & Cloverfield, Gay Lord of the Rings, Terminator Tax, etc. (P.S. I would put Musicals in here too))

Sex (This would be a combination of the weird sex stories Joel finds on the internet and whatever random questions the viewers ask about sex)

Movie Review (Cobble together the reviews of different movies that the crew has watched. We can do everything from the good (Dark Knight) to the hilariously shitty (Lightspeed))

Con Stories (A subset of story time, all of Eli's different stories from the cons he goes to)

I could do a Star Trek or Star Wars themed podcast as well, but it'd be very random. Clips would range from con reports, to movies, to internet stories, to just randomly coming up.

There's still a ton of clips that don't really fall into any specific category, not sure. Suggestions?

I wouldnt bother with themed eps, personally. I think a chronological retrospective would be a good way to introduce the show to new listeners. And I would suggest only using the best material with some kind of sound effect to show when youve moved to a new show.Artist and Creator of HijiNKS Ensue

I see. So you aren't planning to use these to fill in gaps of when the podcast isn't there, so much as use them to introduce people to the podcast. And yeah, I've snipped your transition noise you use in Episode 2 and Episode 7 (Lunch-casts) for my own use.

The reason I wanted to do Ep 1-7 rather than 1-10 is simply to try to make it last longer. I'll start work on The best of Ep 1-10 today, however, know that as we go along the episodes, they get longer, and thus have more moments. Not sure I'll be able to fit all the best.

One more detail. If I'm doing them chronologically, is it important to include things like background information (for instance your story on how the podcast got started, and how the site got started from Ep 9) or should I keep it only to the fun stuff.

One mooore thing (Uncle voice), do you think it's wise for me to try to introduce each clip, or should I just let the people dive in. I have a microphone, but of low quality. I don't think it's good enough to compare to the podcast.

One moooooooore thing, can you send me the clip of the new intro so I can put it at the beginning of this whole thing?

Hmm... probably should have waited for your response. I'm done. I have two versions, one that's Ep 1-7 that is under 90 minutes, and another that's Ep 1-10 that goes to two hours. The intro is just a combination of different openings and the word remix, feel free to record over that, as the intro doesn't actually explain what a remix is. I'll be emailing both versions, first in .wav and then in .mp3 because I have no idea what you need.

This Zupload is horribly slow. I'm trying to upload it to my own space, but for the shorter of the podcasts (Ep 1-7) that alone will take up 2:20:00. So I'm going to ask Joel specifically what he wants, rather than try to upload 4 of these (.wav 1-7, .wav 1-10, .mp3 1-7, .mp3 1-10)

Posted By: YtoabnOkay guys, I'm slapping together the Podcast Retrospective Ep 8-14, but I still haven't figured out the problems with Ep 9 and Ep 14 in Audacity. The only way I have any clips now is by playing the podcast next to my microphone (horrible quality). Does anyone know any software to capture audio playing on your computer. I figure I just play the entire podcast on my computer, use that software to record it (turn off twitter and such to make sure no other noise happens), and I finally have something to work with.

You could get a patch cable that you plug directly into both your headphone and microphone jacks at the same time.

I'm trying to figure out if we can narrow down all of the different clips and moments from the podcast can be narrowed down to about 3-5 clips to make it easier for Joel to make a Podcast page with clips.
The tagline of the podcast is: Your Weekly Source of Geek News from TV, Movies, Comics and the Internet. I'm not sure if it would be best to try to grab one clip to represent each of those four things. I'm not even sure if it matters, considering how the funniest clips just go off on crazy tangents that have nothing specifically to do with any real subject. I'm also not sure if I should include some of the more offensive clips. Either way, here's my suggestion of the best clips (still have to pair it down to just 3-5).

Ep 1. If A Tree Takes a Dump in the Woods - (premiere of Tree Beard I suppose
Ep 3. The Mad Shitter - Shit Baby - Possibly the most offensive clip that doesn't involve racism or retards.
Ep 4. Predator the Musical - Nice and short
Ep 8. Homecoming of the Gays - Does have Josh, so might not be a good representation.
Ep 13. I'd Rather Eat Glass - Might be too long to get to the fun.
Ep 22. Band Kids & Forest Gump the Shark - One of my favorites, and mostly not offensive.
Ep 22. Terminator Tax - A classic bit
Ep 24. Schindler's List the Musical - Most Offensive Bit EVER
Ep 25. Josh's Prison Experience - Just a nice clean thing that can show off the stories these guys tell.
Ep 27. Muggle Telethon - Another Non-Offensive clip, shows that we even occasionally talk about books (as long as they have movies made out of them).
Ep 33. Denise's Father Asian / Texan Experience - Ah good ol' fashion racism.
Ep 43. Predator Tech Support - Not sure which one is better, this or the Predator Musical

Any suggestions on how to cut down this list to a very short representative one. Any clips I need to add?

What happened to the podcast? Is it dead? What do I have to do to change that?
