    I can most certainly say that the HE podcast is by far the most entertaining podcast I listen to, which is incredible given how long the show really is. The jokes are usually non-stop, but every so often, there are "skits" in which I laugh till I honestly can't breathe, and will have to pause the podcast to catch my breath. I've been thinking about going through the HE Podcast archives, and cutting out those portions, to possibly gain some attention towards the podcast and HE in general. But above all, I want to do this because I think it'll be fun, for me and potentially the community at large.

    My plan was to upload the audio clips to Youtube, and then leave it as is. If I had any video editing skills, I'd toss in a few relevant images to go along with the clip, but I don't. And while I haven't even begun to start splicing any clips, if any of you are interested in adding some flavor via video editing, I can send over the audio clips.

    Oh, and of course, if you (Joel) have any objections, I'll stop.

    Also, I only have as far as episode 27, and while I haven't listened further back from that, I would think that the earlier episodes had some funny moments in them as well. So if there's anyway of getting access to the whole HE podcast archive, do tell.

    Ahh, OK, I didn't actually search the forum for anything like that, my bad. Hindsight is 20/20.

    Also, I'm not entirely sure where to get the much earlier episodes, on the RSS that's on the HE frontpage, it goes only as far back as episode 29, or at least, to my knowledge it does.

    You can just hit the podcast tab on the website. I never bothered to use the feeds, cause I'm always on the site, so I just do that when I want to listen to old ones. FYI the archive format is confusing, because there's only a "next" (older) button on the bottom of each page.

    Clicking on the Podcast button in the main nav will take you to the archive for that category and all previous podcast posts. RE: the original call for podcast clips, the idea was to make a page with short clips that people could check out to see if they really wanted to listen to the show. I figured FB's could more easily find converts if they had a "best of" reel to show off to their friends. If ANYONE wants to help out with this and send me the MP3's already cut up I would be super grateful. I just dont have time to do it.

    Oh man, I first listened to that podcast when I was on the highway and when it got to the shit part I was laughing so hard I had to pull off to the side. Afterword I had to use my inhaler cause I could barely breath. Ep.3 nearly killed me but I have never laughed so hard in my life especially at the wolf and the shit baby part.

    Very cool. If Tarm is willing to cut them up, maybe you guys can post your favorite clip ideas in this thread.

    Give episode # and segment name. If you can give the time it starts that would be great, or at least the general portion of the show that the bit occurs in. I really would love to get this "best of" collection made so i can make a proper HE Podcast page some day.

    Tarm, once you get a few let's see if you can get me the Mp3's.

    Oh god! The wolf and the shit baby! I forgot about that masterpiece. I think that might have been, if not the best moment, the best joke ever told on the cast.
    I think I'll find that and cut it out right now.

    I just recently started listening to the early podcasts and I have to say the wolf and shit baby story made me laugh harder than I have in a long time, truly a masterpiece.

    My first real job was washing dishes at a restaurant and part of my job was cleaning the restrooms at the end of my shift, I went to clean the restrooms and I found that one of the stalls had been shit sprayed on the inside, all over the TP dispenser and everything. I don't clean human shit for minimum wage so I just left it and didn't say anything. Next day it was clean.

    I heard later that my boss went through nearly the whole staff trying to get someone to clean it and no one would, he ended up cleaning it himself, so yes yes they do.

    I'm actually going backwards from episode 38, I'm on 28 right now. And once I reach the very end (er, beginning), I'm going to continue on from 39 and so on.

    But of course, if any of you Fancy Bastards have any particular clips you'd want spliced/posted, post the timestamps and episode number here, or just email the clips to me at dennisjr.gonzales at gmail.com, and I'll have those clips fast-tracked to the front of my "to upload" queue.

    I can't remember what ep it was from but The awesomely fantastic and depressing story of Joels cancer ridden cat is brilliant.

    Joel's delivery of the story makes me cry with laughter but the story is sooooo depressing.

    Hopefully another FB can give an ep and time for the clip.

    Also a compilation of every time anybody says balls on the first podcast.

    I almost broke all my washing up listening to the pet stories, I was a teary oscillating ball of giggle the whole way through. I had to stop washing. My Internet is peaking at 30kb/s so I can't go back to check, it was in an episode around April 26th. Could someone put that one you tube?

    Whoop, sorry I haven't made any highlights recently, been busy with work, and taking a bunch of movies, my other podcasts, comics, and not to mention tv shows, off my back burner. I'll be sure to splice the clips Mutant Enemy posted about, as well as another episode, in the very near future.

    I was thinking of making a thread for the soundboard. That is, a fan collected list of the soundbytes, whether it's the clip itself, or just where it came from. I've got a pretty meager list so far, but our collective minds might be able to figure it out. And since it's just us, with no affiliation with the castcast, they should all be fine, legally.

    Especially Eli. I think soundbytes are legal, right? 6 seconds rule?

    Hmm... I've got no sound editing equipment, so I can't help in that way. But in the last podcast Joel noted that he wished there was a source for all the questions already asked. Why not take that one step further.

    I'm nearly done with Spring Break weekend, and I listened to Podcasts 1-5, and noted the time stamp of various topics, tangents, and different jobs that Joel has had. I plan to do 6-9 as well. Perhaps if enough fancy bastards team up and take certain podcasts, we can have a database of what topics & questions have been talked about in time for the 50th podcast.

    Now as for a place to store all of this info, I thought a wiki would make the most sense. I'm a fairly new Fancy Bastard, does Hijinks Ensue have it's own personal wiki or something?

    That question is actually coming at the perfect time. Dram just brought up this possibility about a week ago. I'm not sure that it has gone any further than the "idea" phase yet, but taking it in the direction of it being more like a FAQ might be a good starting point.

    I'm up for helping with this. I've been gradually re-listening to the podcasts anyway, I'm somewhere in the mid-20s, I can start taking notes. Just let me know what you want me to do with the info!

    Ironic, I did a search for a Hijinks wiki before posting, and I saw that, but assumed it had been abandoned because it had no content.

    Kristi: I would love your help. Just announce here what podcasts you plan to do (so no one repeats it). I'm currently taking notes on a topic, and I try to make notes on any tangents they go on. Just try to get a time stamp that's within 5-10 seconds of when the conversation starts. Only make note of a tangent if it's significant (AKA if it goes on for more than a few minutes, or if it inspires the name of the podcast or something like that).


    I'll eventually transcribe my notes to pages for the Hijinks Wiki, where each podcast gets an entry that gives a quick summary of what the podcast went over, and then the time stamp break down. We could also provide links to the any sound bites people have made.

    I just started #24 today. I usually listen at work, so it takes me a while to get through one (especially during the 3-4 hour era!)

    I've done it with audacity in the past, is there any particular thing messing you up? I had no problems and I almost never use the program.
