Who else has?
If you're on the PC, join the Steam group. More FBs united will slow the zombie horde!
If you're not on the PC version, get it now. Seriously :P
(moved to the proper category - joel)
I've got it, already on the Steam group. Up for a few rounds if I'm not particularly "busy'.
Yeah, I'm up for some rounds with my fellow Fancy Bastards.
Hey, what difficulty are you guys playing on? My group can last to some extent on Expert, but the end of No Mercy killed that concept for us. Should we stay on Normal, or try advanced?
Posted By: RerunGoddamn, I don't have enough time to check, so will L4D work on a Mac? Because, if not, I'll grab it for the 360 and save myself the wait for my new Macbook...
Posted By: ArcysHas anyone else ever completed an Expert run? I just can't seem to get it right.Let me sleep on it. I'll give you an answer in the morning.
Does anyone notice how certain character attributes become apparent when playing Left4Dead? I notice I'm always waiting on people, and running as the point man so others are under less risk. My One friend always does his own thing, a bit ahead of the pack. Friend #2 is still learning the game, so I can't read what characteristics he has yet, and #3 is a completely selfish, leaving 1 and 2 out to die while using the opportunity to get to the chopper.
Posted By: FerrosI've gotta admit, i can be a bit selfish. I'll fight through a horde to save a person under a hunter while waiting for rescue but once the boat/APC/Plane/Helicopter is ready to go any stragglers have to fend for themselves.Never go with a hippie to a second location.
Has anyone listened to the commentaries? I've only listened to the one for No Mercy but it's amazing the thought, time, playtesting and effort that Valve puts into things as a player you might not even notice. How they pull you in certain directions with lighting, how they let you know what's coming with music, how they lighten or raise the tension with colours, the automated conversation system between characters. All really fascinating, if you're into that kind of thing.

Today all three of my friends were down feet from da choppah as the result of a recently slain Tank, and I was at full health. They all begged me to get them up, and I just stared at them for a moment. I then opened up the mic and said "The world will look up and shout 'Save us!', and I will look down and whisper 'No.'"
I was then promptly sucked away into the darkness by a Smoker, puked on by a Boomer, and pounced by a Hunter. Good six.

I finally sucumbed to L4D (for 360) on Monday and so far I've played 3 full games - 1 single player, 1 shit multiplayer and 1 awesome multiplayer and a handful of games that I dropped out of in the first few minutes thanks to fuckwits.
I have one thing so say so far "FFS IF YOU WANT TO PLAY SINGLE PLAYER DON'T JOIN A MULTIPLAYER GAME" I'm fed up with people who just rush off ahead of everybody else, open the safe room door before everybodies ready, etc. then when you point this fact out to them they try to insult your sexuality / call you a "ninja" and inform you how awesome they are at the game.
Most awesome part of the awesome game I played was at the end on the roof of the hospital - I had maybe 60% health and the rest of my team was in the yellow so I stood on the helipad picking of the last of the hoard as my team limped into the chopper and then I backed in picking of zombie heads as I went, AWESOME!

Posted By: AaronI thought about dabbling in multiplayer now that I finally have the game but I don't take kindly to being called some vulgar variation of homosexual. You try the best you can. The best you can is good enough.

That, and almost everyone plays the hunter; making the game extremely un-enjoyable.

You don't get to choose though, it's auto...
Has anyone else found the finales to be drawn out too much? the disconnect from the other 4 levels is staggering, considering how a competent team can beat a level at advanced difficulty in under 3 tries (even when they're having a terrible night); but cannot to beat a finale in under 10 tries? I think that 1 large horde, with 1 tank battle, followed by a massive horde that coincides with the rescue vehicle would work really well; and eliminate frustration. However, I don't see any way to alter the finale structure in the modding tools.
