Hi, my name is Sean. *waits for the group to reply "Hi, Sean"*

I've been following HE since one of my most esteemed LJ friends posted a link back here, thereby enlightening me to the concept of spoiler-free carbonite.

Star Wars is my alpha, lambda and omega, but I also did the Indy/Black Hole/Clash of the Titans/Superman diptych/E.T. thing to help fill those empty and meaningless passages of time between SW episodes. Oh, and my SW fandom unfortunately led my folks to believe I was into sci-fi in general, so I was once made to endure Star Trek I. The scars are still there. Finally, my father helped round out my childhood movie experience by sneaking me into such family-friendly classics as Animal House, The Jerk, and Stripes.

I spent six years studying Latin, then went on to get my degree in German, so between the two, my command of English is...um, good. I also took a year of Norwegian while a German major at Portland State, due to the fact I was dating a Norwegian at the time. The upshot was that when we were in Oslo late in 2001, she took me to see FotR in the Oslo Colosseum, billed as the world's LARGEST THX-certified movie theater. I was hooked on those movies from the moment Sauron exploded.

TV...I rarely get into series until after their run, after having witnessed so many other fans' hearts being ripped out, Temple of Doom-style, while their shows were still running. That said, I still try to follow CSI:, and I hope that they've finally purged all the sniveling, money-grubbing actors and can resume putting together a cohesive season of interesting episodes.

I'm Denise, of the "what kind of Asian is she again?" fame on the podcast. 24 going on 25 (next week, wooh!), I work with Josh and Eli in the glamorous world of interactive entertainment that makes your children violent. I continue to argue that I am not necessarily a geek (not that there's anything wrong with that), so much as someone with "colorful" interests...

If you listen to the podcast, you probably know more about me already than I am comfortable sharing with strangers on the internets... so... yeah...

You Fancy Bastards kick ass, thanks for supporting Joel's art! Keep on spreading the word, take your vitamins, and play nice with the other kids. I love you all.

You can continue to argue, but it would really be much easier if you embraced your density... I mean...your destiny.

I feel that my first intro sucked donkey balls, so I'm going to try again.

Hello, my name is Arcys. The name comes from the latin word arcis, which means citadel, stronghold, fortress, keep, or donjon. I currently live outside of Cincinnati, Ohio in Northern Kentucky. I like to dabble in a few things including web development, manga scanlating, photoshopping, computers, and listening to music. I know a little bit of each, but I'm hardly adept at any. If I ever put an effort into learning more it'd be kick ass, but alas I'm too lazy. Enough of that self-pity shit! I'm currently trying to learn how to play an ocarina, but I'm finding it hard due to my really lanky fingers.

Starting at the end of June I'm going to be working as tech support for AT&T's U-Verse program. So if any of you have U-Verse, call tech support, and get some geeky sounding bastard on the other end... it may very well be me! Just mention the secret web code word fancybastard47 and get an extra 10% your purchase price!*

I started reading HE after I read Hyper Realistic Murder Simulators, and have loved every comic since!

    Arcys

    *Legal Disclaimer: Just kidding.

Posted By: Not MandatoryGood idea Sean. Hi everyone! I'm a 33 year old, married, mom to 2 boys, graphic design student in Omaha, NE.Book: If you take sexual advantage of her, you're going to burn in a very special level of Hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater.

Ok, now that was a lame intro, so I feel compelled to add a few things. I'm not sure when I was first introduced to HE, but I've been enjoying the hilarity for quite a while. I enjoy all things Whedon, Kevin Smith, and Tarantino (except Kill Bill for some reason), good sci-fi/fantasy, good and bad horror, playing video-games, and weirding out the guys at the local comic book store who get all sweaty and awkward whenever a female enters the shop of her own free will. I keep busy with school and taking care of my husband and kids (2 boys, age 5 and 8). I regularly indoctrinate people into the world of Whedon, and am currently embarking on the BSG train. I am studying graphic design, but my dream is to write and illustrate a comic of my very own. (We'll see how that pans out with the suckfest that is my drawing skill). I am a brutally honest, massively sarcastic bitch, but if you can get past that, I'm a pretty ok person. So, I'm just loving the vibe here, and conversing with my fellow Fancy Bastards...

And, because I feel like it can tell you a lot about a person, my favorite characters of all time include
Oz, Anya, Giles, and Spike from BtVS
Cordelia, Doyle, Wesley and Illyria from Angel
Jayne, Zoe, River and Wash from Firefly
Roland, Jake and Eddie from the Dark Tower Series
Phoenix, Wolverine, Spider-Woman, Deadpool and Emma Frost from the Marvel Universe
Sawyer, Locke, Sayid and Jin from Lost

    And there you go.

I draw & sketch as a hobby. I haven't concidered to make it as a profession yet but I have sold couple of commissions for like 5 or 10 euros. You can check my stuff at glottis78.deviantart.com.

My geeking is focused mainly on movies, music and comics. I don't hold that much of trivia on comics BUT I think I know about everything there is to know about Quentin Tarantino and his movies. I also 100% LOVE The Big Lebowski which is the best movie in the universe.

Well, if you wanna know something... just ask.

Hey everyone! My name is Kristi, and I'm a 26 year old veterinarian. I currently live in Baltimore, MD, but I'll be moving to Cincinnati in a few weeks to start my new job at the zoo. I'm into photography, and I used to be a stage manager for my college theater. Go theater geeks!

My major interests in the geek world revolve around movies. I keep very close watch on upcoming movies, sometimes I forget the rest of the world doesn't. I'm also a Browncoat and a Whedon zombie (though I never did get in to Angel). I read a lot of sc-fi and fantasy books. I also like video games, particularly Guitar Hero. I'm saving up money to buy a Wii. And an HDTV. And another bookcase.

I found HE through whedonesque.com from an article on darkhorizons.com (a great resource for upcoming movie news, by the way....). The first comic I stumbled upon was the original Fancy Bastard one, and I'm hooked for life. Thank you Joel!

If you're into Farmers Markets, there's tons of them around here. Also, if sushi is your thing... it's really good. As Toyota is big here in Kentucky, some Japanese itamae's came over from Japan and set up shop to service the execs. I've heard Nelson On-the-Levee is a fun time, but alas I haven't had the time, or anybody to go with me.

I'm Aaron. Age 20. I just moved to Denver, Colorado a little over a month ago, I used to live in the Kansas City area in MO. I'm unemployed at the moment living off a savings account hopefully getting a job soon. I'm starting college in the fall to get an Associates Degree in video production and after that I plan on getting a Bachelor's in Digital Film Making. My ultimate goal in going to college is to become a film director. I have loved film since I was a child and have wanted to work in it since I was about 12. I currently have a DVD collection totaling about 350.

I'm a huge Joss Whedon fan (came into the fold when Buffy became syndicated). I also read comics (I'm a Marvel man but do read DC), books when I have the time (big Stephen King fan), love music (Radiohead is my favorite band), and watch quite a bit of television (BSG and The Office are my favorite shows currently on TV).

I got into HE after the comic about Kevin Smith directing an episode of BSG.
