Hi there. I'm new. Well, new to this, anyway. Long time reader and all that.

I'm kbk! Born in '73. Live in San Francisco and somehow have ended up working in a corporate office as an executive assistant despite multiple visible piercings and candy apple red hair. I still read email in pine and chat on irc.

I'm on livejournal, inconsistently, as subtly_modded.

Fantastic! I wonder if that's what old people of the future will do instead of crocheting or gardening. We'll just chat on IRC with the text set to EXTRA LARGE. We'll also execute everything from command prompts because that's the way it was meant to be, dammit.

Anyway, delighted to meet you. :D

    Hey, everyone.

My name is Sandy (I make up for it with my manliness). I'm 21 and I live in Scotland. I've been reading/listening to HE that long that I can't remember how I came along this dwelling of awesomeness. It's been a year atleast.

I work in an office. Nothing big, but behind the scenes I'm slowly gathering qualifications to get a job within IT.

No need to announce myself as a geek (although I did right there) as I guess that's what has brought everyone together here! See you around.

    Hello Fancy Bastards!

I'm 26 married with one (very soon to be two) children. I work as a programmer/test facilitator at a jet engine test facility.

I found HE via stumble upon just before the first podcast, listened and have loved it ever since. I have brought 3 friends to weekly listener ship. I decided to post when Joel said on the last podcast he had around 200 "hardcore fans" and I wanted to publicly correct him! Sometimes even the hardcore fans aren't vocal, sometimes we are busy evangelizing the show to others. But more often then not (I think) people like me assume that any entertainment personalities of the HE quality would be inaccessible so people don't try.

Thanks so much for the podcast I/we look forward to it every week.

    -Jon, Fancy Bastard

You have a cool job, and a way better track record for converting friends to the congregation. Welcome bro, the inner communities we've built are really where it's at. I'd suggest you join the twitter crowd even if you hate social networking sites (I know I do), because we do nothing but geek out at each other all day instead of work.

    Greetings Fancy Bastards

I found HE when i was looking for a replacement for GFW radio on iTunes three months ago or so. I'm always excited now when a new HE podcast shows up.
I live 40 minutes away from Mt. Hood in Oregon and am taking pre-engineering classes in between playing hyper realistic murder simulators and rock climbing.
I've died laughing multiple times listening to the HE podcast.

    Hello!

My name is Jason, I'm a 32 y.o., Caucasian, male, gay. I work as an IT Manager (I think that's my title right now) for a small company outside of Boston, MA. I was pointed to HE by a friend and was drawn in by the character of Josh and his zany antics and was hooked in the end by the art style, topical humor and all the characters. The podcasts were the icing on the cake. In a lot of ways everything/everyone reminds me of my days in college at WPI, which was a pretty damn geeky school.

I spend a lot of time playing games with an awesome group of friends... Boxed games, board games, card games, console games, computer games, tabletop RPGs... you get the picture. I used to LARP pretty frequently, but don't really do much the last few years. I enjoy BSG, selective Trek, Star Wars, some Dr. Who, Top Gear, Iron Chef (especially the original Japanese... I would die for them ;) ). On the lit. side I tend toward fantasy over sci fi but can enjoy both. Love the GamesWorkshop IP/background for both Warhammer Fantasy and 40k... I have previously played both but not currently. Moving away from geekery I'm also decently active in several pagan groups and have minor involvement in the SCA and tangentially in the Bear community.

Scruff here from Victoria, Australia. 36 y.o. Mac/Windows programmer working on learning systems. Stumbled onto HE via one of your earlier iPhone-related comics (iPhantom zone I think it was) that appeared in one of the Mac blogs I follow. Listen to the podcasts at work, get some really strange looks when I burst out laughing in the middle of a quiet office.

Have a flatmate who has the same soul-destroying attachment to Smallville as does Joel. I have a tin representation of Nibbler from Futurama (now with 99% more dark matter!) which I'm planning to embed in him (my flatmate) if I ever hear that darn theme music again.

I lived in Austin TX for a year, working for Motorola. It is there where I garnered my love for Armadillo Pralines. I have a small man-crush on Eli.

    Hello!

I'm a 21 year old Canadian geek. Howard is my name. Currently out of a job, which is great because it gives me more time to focus on my writing (I aim to become a filmmaker or a writer for TV) and putting together other wondrous things. I used to regular write, draw, and update my own webcomic, Oh FFS, but it's on indefinite hiatus while I work on the movies thing. Other than that, I just play guitar and co-host a podcast with a few friends of mine called Simulated Importance.

Going to be honest, I haven't the foggiest how I stumbled across Hijinks Ensue. What I do know is that H.E. is definitely one of my favorite comics, if not my favorite. I also listen to the podcast (which I just started from episode one a week ago, and am currently at episode sixteen or seventeen), and, much like the comic, it has become my favorite of the medium.

That was much more in-depth and long winded than I had intended. Damnit.
