Oh damn... okay at least a couple more to put on there...

Murder by Death - Older movie, insanely fun
Clue - This is one of our "standby" most-watched movies in my circle of friends if we want to watch something but can't decide what

  • JustChristineJustChristine January 2009

Thanks for the LARGE list of movies to add! I'm adding them to the netflix queue right now (with the exception of Spaceballs, which I own and can just watch my own DVD).

Also, Murder by Death is an excellent title.

Posted By: HeronSilverThe Three Musketeers - The Dinsey live action one... Despite being Disney I think it's a great movie. Plus, Tim Curry as the villain!

Also, when I added this to my netflix queue, the first "additional recommendation" was Batman and Robin. I L'd OL.

I saw the Ian McKellen version of 'Richard III' last year, he's fantastic and very young. Its definitely worth seeing, if only to view the early work of an acting great. I caught the Reduced Shakespeare show at the theatre last year as well except it was even better because it was only 3 aussie comedians doing it...

Dead Set is available as a movie. I've just finished it and I'm telling anything that moves about it.

Yes!! Favorite musical of all time!

I tweeted JustChristine about this, but The Big Hit was on the other night. I couldn't tell if the movie was just poorly made, not as good as I remembered it, or just edited to hell for TV, but it was a bit painful to watch. Marky Mark is still in his thug phase, Lou Diamond Philips is just campy, and....yeah.

edit: I forgot to mention the film also stars China "Frankenfish shot me" Chow.

Things that are edited for TV are extremely painful to watch. The MOST painful are the ones on broadcast (like when I watched "Point Break" on the local FOX station during the day... terrible on top of terrible!)

  • John+DarcJohn Darc January 2009

Speaking of Point Break, did you see that mythbusters where they did Point Break myths, and had to recreate scenes AND edit the dialogue? Arrgh.

  • JustChristineJustChristine January 2009

Posted By: John Darcdid you see that mythbusters

No but I DID just see one of the James Bond myth ones, where they had to use storyboards instead of actual footage from the films - was it similar to that? Makes me sad, but doesn't really take away TOO much from the idea, since what I really want to see is if metal teeth can chomp through a cable car cable!

What myths did they do from Point Break? (as I go completely off on a tangent here)

  • John+DarcJohn Darc January 2009

They basically deconstructed the scene where Swayze strands Keanu on the plane.

    Point Break on Mythbusters

edit: And the build team greenscreened that acting. Grant did the whole "Adios" thing.

Fantastic! (plus, ha! I could have busted that second one on my own - I couldn't hear MYSELF screaming "OHMYGOD" 30,000 times while I was freefalling, I doubt I could hear anyone else!)
