Well, my name isn't Bruce, but hopefully it is understood what I am referring to. If not, I will explain it. Right now.
My Name is Bruce is the new movie directed by and starring B-Movie legend Bruce "Bigchin" Campbell. It's about a small town that unwillingly releases a demon that starts to kill them (mostly by beheading them). In a panic, they turn to the only man they think that can help them: Bruce Campbell. What they don't seem to understand is that Bruce Campbell is not a demon-slayer, he's just an actor.
This movie is definitely a B movie, it's definitely cheesy, and it's definitely awesome. Has anyone else checked this movie out yet? I know it was just released on DVD and Blu Ray, and I was very happy to pick it up.
I remember hearing about that at some point. That's definitely going on my list.
Posted By: SeanNot to be confused with a pretty damn funny movie called "They Call Me Bruce?" (and its sequel "They Still Call Me Bruce?") about a guy who is continually mistaken for Bruce Lee.I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy
Posted By: AaronI gave up after the first half hour. Does it get any better? The only thing I laughed at was theAmazon.comjoke and even then it wasn't that great of a joke. You try the best you can. The best you can is good enough.
I know a lot about Bruce. I bought his second book just so I could go to a signing of his. He can be a funny guy but the part of the movie I saw was full of bad acting and unfunny Bruce worship. Any other night I probably would've stuck with it but I had a stack of movies that night I had to get through because they were due back the next day. I just want to know if it's worth going back and finishing? Does the last hour get better?
"look, here's some deodorant - search that from your internets" - that REALLY cracked me up when Bruce was in a rush to leave the set of ... Cave Alien 2 :D and fans surrounded him.
I got this movie on DVD right after it was released here and at first I didn't like it at all (except that quote I mentioned earlier). I knew it was all camp'n stuff but it was taken SO over the top that it lost its meaning to me. I think I expected kinda more Army of Darkness kinda humor but on a second time movie went up in my books - a LOT :)
I like the flick, DVD was cheap and I do like Bruce Campbell and his movies. I did an email interview with him once and his answers were pretty damn funny and probably he was drunk as hell when he answered them. Anyways - props to Bruce for making this indy flick and all fans of Bruce and/or movies he's in should watch this
re-donk-ulus is about the only word for this movie. It is both bad and awesome in equal measures. (and it is an instant watch on netflix.)
