I'm thinking of a quite nerdy project that I'd really like some help with, considering I don't know a thing about coding. Er, I do know a few things, the first of which is that I don't know much at all.
I'm hoping one of you Fancy Bastards could help me out with either a) making an iPhone app or b) making a web app optimized for the iPhone screen. Reply to me here and I'll give you some more details into what I'm thinking of. Skanks!
I have a stupid piece of paper that says I'm qualified for this - I'd be happy to help out As I don't own an iPhone/touch it would have to be a webapp which I do have a G1 to test with since its browser is very close to the iphone/touch's
I'm an iphone developer (actually -- an ipod touch one as I hate mobile phones :-) ).
Your easiest bet is a web app, plus there are millions of web developers available to help you out. iphone apps are fun to develop, but are a bit harder to get working (and deployed) than a web app that can be hosted anywhere.
So, unless your application specifically needs access to some iphone specific features (the camera, voice recording etc) or requires something like graphics and animations or opengl, then a web app may be the best way to get it up and running, particularly in its early stages. I've been a commercial developer for 15 or so years now, and can tell you from experience that prototyping your ideas first is ALWAYS a good thing :-)
And then you can, when you work out the kinks in your web-app, you can look at a fully-fledged application (or pay someone to do it!)...
