Seven Strips In....Whaddya Think?
  • AtlantaJonesAtlantaJones April 2009

Hey guys, I recently started a strip called "Happy Accidents", which so far is updated once a week. I've done seven strips and am getting some good reaction. Thought I'd post here and see what everyone thinks.

The strip can be found at www.happyaccidentscomic.com, and a sample strip is below. Thanks for lookin' (and feedbackin').

    Sham. Wow.

I think it's smart. The art is pretty strong. One minor nit-pick on the otherwise great comic above: Vince's right arm is much thicker than his left in panels 1 and 2. I liked the Twitterocalypse "series", too. However, it wasn't obvious at first that the Terminator was pulling a gun in the second panel of the second part, so I was confused about the KABOOM and the blood in panel 3.

Thanks! Yeah, I knew there were some "anatomical" problems with this one, but one of my funnier ones (and getting a lot of play from Google searches for 'Sham Wow').

As for Twitterocalypse, that was a hard one. I was hoping the inference would be clear enough, but maybe not. Maybe I should've exaggerated the Terminator's movement in the background or highlighted the gun a little more.

The art is working. I really like that he's wringing out the shamwow in panel 2. My one slight problem with this one is the profile shot in the last box. His head seems off shaped or too thick. But that guy's got a weird shaped head/face so I could be in the wrong there.

Ha! No, you're totally right. I must've redrawn that profile three times, and STILL didn't get it right. But yeah, he does have a pretty odd-shaped mug.

Wow, that's amazing! Still, I'm clearly not the only one that's starting to put 2 and 2 together.

Joel, would love to get your feedback on my strips so far, good or bad.

I just had to re-read that comic in Ahnold voice.

    Surprisingly effective.
