Am I just blind or something, or is there no thread on the new Star Trek movie? Is there nothing to say besides that it's awesome?
After Dark Knight, Watchmen, and this movie, I almost want to believe in movies again. The only thing that ruined the experience for me was hearing at least four people say "OMG THAT'S SCYLER!!! HEROS IS SOOOO GOOOD!" every damn time Spock was on screen.
I can't wait for this movie to come out on Blu-Ray so i don't have to bother with that and I can just enjoy the movie over and over again.

Posted By: AaronIt's one of those rare movies I'll revisit in theaters multiple times. I never liked Star Trek before but that was good enough to make me a Trekkie. You try the best you can. The best you can is good enough.
Posted By: YtoabnHey trek nerds, question.
A. Before this movie, what was the highest grossing Star Trek movie.
B. How much money did it make (if converted for inflation).Since none of you can pronounce my name (Why-tow-a-bin), why don't you just call me YT.
Wow, I knew the first movie was the most profitable, but according to this inflation calculator that movie made 458 million in 2009 dollars. I know that this Star Trek (2009) movie will eventually catch up with DVD sales, and internation sales, but still..... I'm impressed.
Bryan Fuller thinks they'll be a Star Trek TV series, but thinks it shouldn't be the Enterprise crew. What do you guys think?
I prefer my Star Trek in TV form rather than movie form, but if it was based on the Enterprise then they'd have to somehow get the budget for all the movie actors to go on the small screen. It's just not feasible. I truly do think that focusing on a different ship and crew would be sufficient. It should focus on the big super spoilery event that happened in the movie and caused everything to be really super different. After all, the reason Star Trek needed a reboot is because we had heard all the same stories over and over again. Therefore, we need to focus on the differences to keep it interesting.
Also, get Ron Moore to do it <_<
Wasn't that the point of Voyager? A different ship/crew, in a completely unknown area?
And if you focus on time line differences there will still be overlap because mostly they will be telling old stories twisted by the effects.
Not that I am against a new tv show based on the timeline, just be careful what you wish for. I don't want another ST:Enterprise
and it looks awesome on blue ray to boot!
