The Upfronts (AKA What got canceled?)
  • YtoabnYtoabn May 2009

I'm going to try to use this thread to break down as simply as possible what we know is canceled and renewed (along with what SciFi-ish shows are coming)

Some of the big geek shows that have been mentioned already...

    Chuck, Dollhouse, Fringe - Renewed
King of the Hill, Sit Down Shut Up, Terminator: Sarah Conner Chronicles - Canceled

    Here's Fox's upfront

If you guys here anything about shows getting canceled or renewed, post it here.
    --EDIT--
    Castle will return

Uh, can't we just look at the Michael Ausiello blog? He seems to be keeping good tabs so far.

edit: Nevermind, I guess the official upfronts started.

  • FerrosFerros May 2009

The only show I'm really annoyed that got canceled is Life. I really liked that show and I've been a fan of Damien Lewis since Band of Brothers.

  • YtoabnYtoabn May 2009

    ABC Upfronts

Lost, Castle, and Scrubs return (Zach Braff will be in 6 of the first 13 episodes)
Samantha Who & According to Jim canceled

New shows: Fastforward - everyone gets a vision of the future for 2 minutes 19 seconds
Eastwick - Desperate Housewives + Charmed

Wow, shocked about Samantha Who getting canned. I thought it was being groomed to be ABC's next quirky golden child, a la Ugly Betty.

  • YtoabnYtoabn May 2009

    NBC Upfronts

Chuck survives, along with Heroes, The Office, and Parks and Recreation. Life and Medium don't make it (though apparently Medium may go to CBS).

  • FerrosFerros May 2009

I can't seem to find it anywhere in those lists, does anyone have any knowledge about How i met your mother coming back?

  • YtoabnYtoabn May 2009

IMDB says that How I met your Mother survives for another season

    Three previews for ABC Comedies

Hank is Kelsey Grammar being a rich guy forced to live as middle class (looks okay)
The Middle is a Malcom in the Middle show (starring the mother rather than a son).
Cougartown is a recently divorced woman looking to bag some young guys.

    EDIT:
CBS Upfront confirm How I Met Your Mother will continue

HIMYM is a CBS staple now. No need to worry about it getting cancelled.

Though I guess it's getting its old 8:00 PM spot back.

  • FerrosFerros May 2009

Goddamn the masochist in me... I'm probably gonna have to watch Cougartown, if only for the imagined reason of seeing tips on how to pick up MILFS. Thanks for the prompt replies on HIMYM, I have trouble following the American stations since i download all my shows because typically they just aren't shown down here.

I hear Cougar Town looks awful.

The name alone gave that away.

  • John+DarcJohn Darc May 2009

It's supposed to be a pun. Courtney Cox is a "cougar" and the school team is the "Cougars".

What the fuck, Bill Lawrence? He commented on a TVSquad.com article about why Scrubs needs to die a few weeks ago. I posted him a comment, so I know he got it in his email. "Bill, bring back Clone High".

Well ofcourse it is, hasn't stopped me watching crap TV before though. If Courtney Cox is the "cougar" though i will pass, she just annoys me.
