There's nothing to say about this. I think I'm done with rapid successions of pictures which create the illusion of motion.

Things like this make me doubt that Hollywood companies are run by actual people.

    Short Circuit Remake

According to Variety, Dan Milano of Robot Chicken and Greg the Bunny fame has been recruited to pen the remake for Dimension Films, replacing original writers S.S. Wilson and Brent Maddock. He plans to give it a"subversive edge" similar to his Adult Swim work. Contrast that bit of positivity to the enthusiasm from Dimension Films and producer David Foster, who have no plans to change the design of Number 5 to reflect the 21st century, its improvements in robotics, or the fact that a really popular PIXAR film looks an awful lot like him. "We think of Wall-E as an extended trailer for our film, because it's the same face," Foster said.

Cinematical was nice enough to list all the announced remakes they've reported on in the last month

Has there ever been remake / reboot news that you've warmly greeted? We've groaned about / bitched about a ton of remakes in various stages of development. Just within the last month, we've written about Short Circuit, Alien, Total Recall, The Karate Kid, Scream, Barbarella, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Flight of the Navigator, Footloose, Mona Lisa, The Mechanic, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Also looming out there: Predator, Commando, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Warriors, Tell No One, and District B13, among many others. Next week, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 hits theaters, and later this year Fame, Night of the Demons, A Christmas Carol, The Wolfman, and Brothers will endeavor to obliterate all memory of their original inspirations.

I'm a little surprised that the Bazooka Joe movie hasn't been mentioned yet.

A picture of the A-Team Van, and of the new Karate Kid movie

And just to remind you, yes that's Jackie Chan playing Mr. Miyagi, and Jaden Smith (Will Smith's son) playing the Kid.

I've heard it said before, but I think it's sort of important; the least they could do is get the races right. Karate is a Japanese thing, hence the casting of Pat Morita. Are they just going to change everything? No Daniel-san, the plot is different, Jaden Smith is like 6 instead of however old Ralph Macchio was supposed to be.

I still can't believe they're making a Facebook movie let alone that David freaking Fincher is involved. Why man why? YOU MADE FIGHT CLUB!

    Status Update:
Harlo has no interest in this movie.

Wait, Sorkin is working on the screenplay? This might actually be redeemable if handled well.

    Marvin the Martian the Movie

A CGI version of Marvin arrives on Earth to ruin Christmas, only to be trapped in a gift box. It's being directed by the director of Inspector Gadget 2, and the future director of Beverly Hills Chihuahuas 2.
