Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin announced she was stepping down as Alaskan Governor. Not due to any kind of scandal or anything, simply because....

Palin added in a statement that she was "determined to take the right path for Alaska even though it is not the easiest path. ... Once I decided not to run for re-election, I also felt that to embrace the conventional lame duck status in this particular climate would just be another dose of politics as usual, something I campaigned against and will always oppose."

There have been a handful of theories...

    A. Some big scandal will come out.
    B. She felt that she had to prepare for her 2012 Presidential Election so early that being stuck in Alaska would interfere
    C. She was afraid that after she didn't run for a second term, a Democrat would take the Governorship. So she is setting up her Lt. Governor as best she can for 2010.

Whatever the reason, by July 26th, she'll be the former Govenor of Alaska, serving for about 2 years & 7 months.

Recently Palin made a post on her facebook page, firing back at the media.

"The response in the main stream media has been most predictable, ironic, and as always, detached from the lives of ordinary Americans who are sick of the 'politics of personal destruction,'" she said in a posting on the "Sarah Palin's Notes" section of her Facebook page. "How sad that Washington and the media will never understand; it’s about country. And though it's honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling and without finishing a term, of course we know by now, for some reason a different standard applies for the decisions I make. But every American understands what it takes to make a decision because it’s right for all, including your family.

It's at this point that I really start to get annoyed. She has invented a new card, the Mainstream Media Card, and she plays it like crazy. She announced this resignation a little over 36 hours ago, and she's already crying foul. The media hasn't even had time to react in anyway, they've been too busy with Mark Sanford's trip to Argentina or the death of Michael Jackson.

I'm now convinced that Sarah Palin is in her own world, convinced that everyone is out to get her and against her, and reacting to her own echos.

Not much to say about this, honestly. She might try to run in 2012 but I doubt the higher ups of the party would want her.

I wouldn't be surprised to see her in the primary, but yeah little chance of making the ticket.

Luckily, we live in a country with free speech and speculation.

I like how she's still taking shots at the "gotcha, mainstream media with their liberal bias". And by like, I mean don't like.
