if you are British I don't wana turn this into a debate thread about who to vote for, I was more interested in what it looks like from an international perspective, is there coverage on it in other countries? If there is do people care? After the global excitement over the American elections just got me thinkin about how other people around the world see the British one.

I'd consider myself a moderate consumer of news and I listen to public radio here in the States (which includes BBC World Service). The only thing that has really stuck with me is a growing frustration with Gordon Brown. Sadly I know very little about the other candidates, and I haven't really grokked the platforms of the three major parties. The election is getting attention, but I don't think it's making major headlines. The people that are likely to be aware of it around here are the same people that regularly follow world news, and that's a fairly small part of the population.

  • Yeah I hear about it on NPR, they don't really get into the meat of the platforms. Its mostly about how many seats is the labor party going to loose. That and the strong showing of the third party in the debates.
