It seems a pain that you can only insert images from URL links and not upload them. Likewise, you can't upload avatars, only use images to which you have URLs.
Is this for space constraints, or is it a limitation of the Vanilla forums? Just curious. Seems like it will lead to more hotlinking images than anything else.
No big deal. Just curious.
Im going to add a "avatar upload" extension, but Im not sure about hosting images. I want to see what kind of strain the forum puts on my server before adding that feature. The avatar thing should be in place when I officially announce the forum next week.
I actually have no problem using URL links for my avs and whatnot, but I have the unlimited storage photobucket of DOOM, however, I can understand where it might be a problem for some people. I admin at another forum, and we use vBulletin which allows us to have a ridiculously extensive av gallery and the ability to upload, but this works just as well.
I made a 32X32 version just for the FBF.

Posted By: matsieI do find it strange that you're using a 32x32 icon, which isn't really standard in most forums, but whatevs. I will go icon-less.
With the minimalist style of the board, I don't know if a bigger picture would look right.
I, too, prefer icons to avatars.
With a little PhotoShopping(or G.I.M.P.ing), it's not hard to create a icon out of your favorite avatar. Compare my icon to my profile picture to see what I mean.
