Are there any FBs out there who are also somewhat addicted to this little web-based RPG? With a heavy dose of references to They Might Be Giants, JoCo, Harold & Kumar, etc., it seems like something that would fit right in with the insanity and geekery of HE's dusfunctional little family.
I played it for a short while, but it didn't have enough meat (get it?) to keep me going with it. Sorry. But I did appreciate the humor while I was there!
I used to play, but it get's really repetitive. If you like doing the same quests over, and over, and over again, then you'll love it.
If anybody needs meat, I've got 16 Million sitting on my account.
I actually just started in December, but I'm loving every minute of it so far. There are only two ascensions under my belt, which may explain that. New content seems to get added with a fair amount of regularity though, and the /games chat channel is fun too. It's actually how I got one million of my 1.5 mil meat :-)
Hey I've been playing for a year and change and I'm on my 16th ascension (3rd hardcore). I really like that I'm actually limited to 40 turns a day so it doesn't destroy my life. Plexiglass pith hat, y'all!
Yeah I started playing again recently I think i'm on my 4th hardcore run. my old account got deleted for inactivity because of exam season. If anyone wants to add me as a friend on it I go by His Holiness on there too.

Hmm, sounds interesting. I'll have to try it out sometime.
It's a lot of fun. The graphics are literally stick figures, and all of the story/descriptions are completely tongue-in-cheek. Try to imagine what it would be like if Monty Python teamed up with Weird Al to create an RPG, full of references to JoCo, Kids In The Hall, 80s rock music, and pretty much all of pop culture. And like Jessie said above, your gameplay each day is limited (because it's free), so you don't have the "EverCrack" effect.
Just to give you an idea of what you're in for, your first choice is what class to be.
Turtle Tamer - defensive specialist (muscle)
Seal Clubber - offensive specialist (muscle)
Pastamancer - summons enchanted noodles to combat foes (mysticality)
Sauceror - mixes up sauces to enhance abilities (mysticality)
Disco Bandit - pickpocket who uses a ranged disco ball weapon (moxie)
Accordion Thief - pickpocket who damages foes with horrid music (moxie)
I'm enjoying it. I'm a Level 7 Iguana Driver. I'm glad that I found the wiki to help me figure out what can be combined, what can be mixed, what can be cooked, et cetera, though.
Is there any advantage to joining a clan, and if so, does anyone have any recommendations?
There are a bunch of GreaseMonkey scripts out there for cooking, mixing, combining, and meatsmithing. They help a lot, and you aren't tempted too much to look at spoilers on the wiki.
As for clans, I haven't had much use for them yet, even though I belong to one. KOL is a pretty individual game, except for the new Hobopolis area, which is designed for level 30 and up.
One other quick recommendation. Lurk in the /games chat channel for a while. There are a lot of fun people there, and playing the games is a great way to earn some quick meat and cheap items. Check the "games" entry in the wiki to see how they are played, and remember the two cardinal rules of the channel - never request a game (it's considered rude), and always thank the people who do host games.
Ugh, thanks a lot for recommending this to me. :-)
I'm such an achievement/items whore that now I need to play every day (at least through Crimbo), and I joined a guild just to get the additional 9 adventures a day that they provide.
I need the adventures because I'm trying to get through 3 adventures with the Penguin Mafia, two adventures with the irradiated elves, then spend the adventures in the Bat Hole until I get 3 more fat stacks of cash. Then if there's time I try to do a Bounty Hunter quest. If I run out of adventures before Crimbo ends, then I'm going to have to try to buy some fat stacks of cash, and they're 5,000 meat per right now.
I destroyed the Naughty Sorceress, but I didn't let the king out because I'm not ready to ascend just yet. I'm going to get the 300 pound load trophy (and possibly the Bringer of Storms trophy if I get enough chaos butterflies, and maybe more of the recipe based ones) before I do, and then it'll be time to try a hardcore ascension with a different class.
