Working on a podcast... release date looks closer to 2012.
Maybe I'll make a podcast out of my adventures in D&D, like Kurtz and the PA guys are doing.

Some of us Fancy Bastards were talking about doing a podcast about Hijinks Ensue, our love for Joel, Eli, Josh and Denise, and other things related to the comic.

We decided that we could probably use Skype in conjunction with Garageband to record it. I did a test and yes this is possible, but I have yet to perfect it.
If anyone has suggestions on either how to optimize Garageband to record Skype or a better way of doing this please let me know.

I'd be down to help out in any way I can. I'm not very familiar with what's involved though, so if its too much trouble to walk me through it, I won't be offended.

Kurtz uses a program to record skype calls call PodFlower or PodBlossom or somesuch.

Yes we need to do that. As much as I would love to have every Fancy Bastard involved in this, we probably have to keep the population down so that my (or however ends up recording this) computer doesn't explode.

Interesting idea. Will it fly if all you talk about is the comic, though? You need some kind of shtick so that it isn't just a HE-Cast clone, but I'm having trouble coming up with ideas.

How would the "BastarCast" be up for download?
You going to do it through itunes? Or possibly have it up in the forum?

I think that would make a lot of sense. Give control and permanent host seats to the people who can really dedicate the time and effort, with a couple of "BastGuests" each time.

Okay, here's what I've got so far:

aaaaaaannd...... I forget. If you were one of the people that brainstormed with us while Joel was drawing the party comic, please message me so I can update the list.

Ok, I've set myself up with some software to record skype calls, but I need to test out of to see what levels and audio quality will be like.

So Dram, we should do a test run sometime soon. Once that is done and I have everything figure out we can set up a real time/date to record episode one.

I have Call Graph, but I think we had decided to let one person host/record.

I now have Audio Hijack Pro which allows you to record basically anything that makes a sound, so we'll Skype it up and use Audio Hijack and Garage Band to do this thing. We need to set a time/date when everyone is free.

I'm usually good sometime after midnight eastern time, but if people want earlier by a few hours I can do that too. I'm on wifi, so I hope my bad signal won't break the cast. Any date is about equally good atm, but I think there's a week sometime later this month coming up where I can do any time. I might even be able to get a steady signal that week, I'll look into it.

I'm debating whether we should have a dedicated website or if we should just do a straight iTunes distro. If we do go a for a site, even if it's just a blogspot or something, I'd be happy to do a little graphic design.

Yeah nights are probably better for me, I work the 9 to 5 most days.

I'm throwing our 'cast to the pimping. We run Bad Movie Fiends podcast (@bmfcast on teh Twitter). I am always reticent to pimp my own ride, but I do so because I believe FBs might enjoy our talks. I'd recommend skipping to Ep5 or so because our recording equipment vastly improved. But, if you don't care about those kinds of things, jump in anywhere.

I promise (as the one regular listener/reader of HE from our trio) that if I've stolen anything from HE I apologize profusely Joel & Co. Sometimes shit just comes out that I've heard and I realize the source later.

Ha! I saw the corrected one and thought of Nightcrawler teleporting!

These are both valid points.. and things we took into consideration with the name. We did want the podcast that said "Bad Mother Fucker" but we generally call ourselves the bamfcast in honor of our favorite teleporting mutant.

There's a sign in a train station here in NYC, that says "BAM" on it. I don't know what it's for, but someone took the time to graffiti in an F, to make it say "BAMF".
