I've pretty much disowned any post-Pinkerton Weezer, but I'm glad to hear they're still trucking.

yeah i downloaded the record yesterday and finally brought myself to listen to it, i am not impressed. pinkerton spoiled me like a wonderful grandmother.

I feel the exact same way. It still holds up very well.

seriously! those bass lines, the falsetto harmony, the lyrics that read like a diary. and the record just sounds amazing, you can't beat two inch tape.

did anyone buy rivers cuomo's album? it's called "alone - home recordings." i haven't decided yet if i want to buy it or not.

If you haven't seen the video for Pork And Beans yet, I highly recommend it.

Short backstory - I taught a high school "Intro to Computer Technology" class, and started every class with an approximately five minute segment called "Goofy Video Of The Day". I actually had to stop doing it because other teachers complained that students came in to their classes late so they could watch the latest meme from outside my classroom door. But my first reaction to the video was "Weezer sat in on my class!!".

it's worth a download, or possibly a used cd purchase. it gives a nice insight to where rivers' song writing was and how it got to where it is now.

I like the album overall. It'll never compare to Blue Ablum and Pinkerton Weezer but that wasn't a possibility anyways. It has a few rough patches but it is much better than Make Believe.

I agree with Aaron, actually. Better than Make Believe, but as to most of the response in this thread, definitely not as good as Pinkerton or Maladroit.

Also, I can't get enough of the Pork & Beans vid. I just... it's like crack to me.

Pork & Beans is an incredible song until the chorus, it sounded so good and then they ruined it...
