I'll use this thread for anything concerning the "The Experiment." (ya' know. the one where I'm trying to make a living off this comic?)
As of right now you can preview a few new pages dealing with The Experiment:
http://hijinksensue.com/experiment/
http://hijinksensue.com/experiment/story/
http://hijinksensue.com/experiment/manifesto/
These pages basically detail what the Experiment is, why Im doing it, why I started the comic, and what I hope to achieve. Please read and share with your friends. The more people that know about this endevour, the better (hopefully) it will turn out.
I'm 60 days into the Experiment. I'll post a video blog this week with an update.
Yeah Joel, this is inspiring. I'm doing some of the similar stuff with my own software development. Only a few days from being able to sell my first few apps.
Seeing what you are trying to accomplish here has made me want to find out what I really want to do in life. It just feels so overwhelming. The whole, "What will happen if I make this decision?" question is one that I'm having the hardest time answering.
Also, kudos on the comic. Many of the webcomics that I read are only focused on video games, but HE encompasses the whole kit-n-caboodle of geekery. It's also because of you that I'm going to give Firefly another chance. 5 billion fancy bastards can't be wrong...
Ok, I want to marry your manifesto. Is that legal? Seriously though, I think its incredibly awesome that you are doing this. So, good luck with everything, and we Fancy Bastards will do our part and spread the joy of HE like herpes at a frat party.
Posted By: JarmoIf you ever get a book out, I'll be sure to force my local bookstore(s) to order it here \o/
Joel, the experiment really is inspiring.
Before first seeing your experiment video I was thinking many of the same things myself. I'm hoping that since I have just moved to a newer, bigger, more happening city, I will be further inspired to try to create more opportunities for myself.
Keep putting out quality material and I'll keep supporting you.
