Is it bad that someone as addicted to the internet as i am doesn't have a twitter account? Hell i don't even have a myspace or facebook page. It surprises me how much privacy people are willing to give away these days to jump on a technology fad.

Not having a myspace account is a good thing. I'm ambiguous about facebook, but Twitter is amazing.

I realize that a lot of people don't "get" what twitter is, or what it can be used for, but it is an excellent social site. I can tell you how many times I have received excellent advice about various software/computer problems, or have just had interesting conversations with people I wouldn't otherwise have had the opportunity to communicate with.

Twitter's not so bad because, unlike social sites like Myspace which encourage you to give as much info as you can, twitter is just 140 character long whatever you want. You never have to give away more than you want, and some people are dangerously ambiguous.

Well gee that's really interesting, Barack Obama claimed victory for the democratic party nomination and the first place he announced it was on his twitter account.

I'm still unsure what Twitter is. Anyone care to enlighten me? I'm tempted to sign up blindly, because all the cool kids are doin' it, it seems, but I'd rather have some vague idea as to what they're all about.

It's a website where you type little 140 character snippets about your day. A lot of it is useless information, but you'd be surprised how often it's really informative. By following your geek idols or the creators of things you love, like comics, you can get exclusive and interesting information. Also, rarely will you actually have to go to the website. There are a plethora of great add-ons, many of them officially supported by the website, that let you read and write tweets from your browser or desktop. I think it's great because the simplicity of the system has kept it very pure.

FYI - If you want to add some space between the entries, you can add a non-breaking space in both box for a line. You'll have to save it twice. The first save will display the actual code, while the second one will turn it blank.

The code for a non-breaking space is this:
 
Amperstand and semi-colon must be included.

I tried that, but I like the look of the hyphen-lines better. I think they create more of a separative appearance than   breaks do.

Yeah, am also following all you fancy bastards now, and now that I have the internet again I will be far more active both on this forum and on twitter.

Oh and Eddie, you can set up your cellphone so that you can tweet via sms, which is cool and handy if you aren't somewhere that you can connect to the internet.

Hahlo is an excellent mobile site for twitter, and Twhirl is a great app that uses adobe air to follow your twitter.

Hahahaha! OK. Sorry, but I'm knee deep in season one, and don't want to be spoiled. I'll stay away from my twitter tonight...and that sounded way dirtier than it was supposed to.

Ok, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make the phone post thing work! I am made of fail!

You just have it send a text to your number, and you have to reply with a certain code, or something. It was a while ago, but it's for verification purposes.

I tried, it doesn't work. I imagine its because I don't have the ability to send to a number that starts with +.

try the pound or star keys.
